I am a Canadian entrepreneur and technology professional with more than three decades of experience building businesses, developing software and solving practical problems.

For approximately 25 years, I was the owner and president of Sycorp Environmental, where I was involved across virtually every aspect of the business — strategy, operations, accounting, information systems, product development and customer relationships.

Following the sale of the company's operating assets in 2025, I moved away from full-time business ownership and into a more flexible stage of life focused on independent projects, travel, technology, writing and international engagement.

A Career Built Around Independence

Entrepreneurship has shaped much of my adult life.

Running a privately owned business required the ability to move constantly between strategy and detail: developing products, managing finances, building systems, working with customers, solving operational problems and making decisions without large organizational structures behind me.

That experience reinforced a preference I still carry today — practical solutions, personal accountability and the ability to turn ideas into something useful.

Technology

Computers and software have been part of my life for more than four decades.

My background includes programming, databases, financial systems, mobile applications and the development of specialized software tools.

Technology has rarely been an end in itself for me; I am most interested in using it to simplify information, automate repetitive work and solve clearly defined problems.

An International Perspective

I have travelled to more than 50 countries across all seven continents.

I am a dual citizen of Canada and the United Kingdom.

Travel has broadened my perspective on differences in opportunity, infrastructure, education and quality of life and increasingly influences the projects and relationships I pursue.

Current Interests

My current work brings together independent technology projects, travel, photography and publishing. I am also exploring how business experience and useful connections can contribute to educational and charitable initiatives.
